Alternatives considered

• Chromodoris annae

  Why plausible: The original iNaturalist computer-vision result was Chromodoris annae at 59.8%, and some Chromodoris lineages mimic one another.

  Comparison: The photograph lacks the usual blue, darkly punctate C. annae field and instead shows the complete broad-band and white-orange-white-margin combination associated with C. magnifica.

• Chromodoris strigata

  Why plausible: C. strigata is another pale blue-white, black-lined Chromodoris recorded from the western Pacific and eastern Indonesia.

  Comparison: IMG_6811 shows broad continuous black bands and a conspicuous outer white edge, not the relatively narrow or broken five-line pattern, blue-white blurred zones, interrupted yellow outer margin and white gill pinnules described for C. strigata.
